Coroner ID's Skeletal Remains Of 33-Year-Old Man Found In Allentown Park

The remains of a 33-year-old man found in Allentown have been identified, the Lehigh County Coroner announced on Monday, Sept. 23.

Michael "Mike" Morrisey, 33, of Allentown, was last seen alive on Saturday, July 27, Coroner Daniel Buglio explained in an updated release. He was reported as a missing person by concerned family members to the Allentown Police Department on Thursday, August 8. 

His skeletal remains were found in a wooded area, near the underpass in the 1200 block of South 8th Street in Trout Creek Park, as detailed in the coroner's initial release. He was officially pronounced dead at 10:33 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 20. 

An autopsy to determine the cause of death happened at the Lehigh County Coroner's Office and Forensic Center on Monday, Sept. 23, but the cause and manner of death were not determined, and further investigation is required, according to the coroner. 

The Allentown Police Department is also investigating this death.

Mike was an Allentown native who attended Allentown Central Catholic High School before going on to study at Lehigh Carbon Community College, according to his social media. He was a self-employed plumber.
